As the NZIOB is not ‘profession’ based, our
members are part of an organisation that
represents all of the construction disciplines.
This point of difference provides the NZIOB with
a unique platform from which to advance the
construction sector’s performance and profile.
The NZIOB takes a wide-ranging approach with
construction industry promotion. Through the
NZIOB/Careers NZ Big Day Out - Construction
program, we are involved in promoting the sector
to our youth. We are regularly commenting on
construction good-news stories in the media, and
we celebrate our industry’s high performers at our
annual NZIOB Awards.
On a National level the NZIOB regularly holds
national and international (with AIB and SIBL)
conferences, and runs seminars and workshops
that are toured to New Zealand’s main centres.
On a local level, the three NZIOB Chapters, and
two Branches provide a range of social and CPD
events throughout the year.
Through our regular events, membership of the
NZIOB allows you to meet construction
practitioners across the full spectrum of the
property and construction sectors. Having
out-of-work interactions with those involved in
areas of the construction supply chain outside of
your own, provides multiple benefits to your
knowledge base, and personal networks.
The NZIOB Charitable Trust provides significant scholarships for those with outstanding research or innovation proposals that will ultimately lead to betterment of the construction industry. We take leadership for projects such as Bim101-an insight,
and we showcase construction global innovation through our creation of the 'Constructing our World' international construction showcase.
