The NZIOB provides you with an opportunity to become a professional member of a distinguished forum for persons in the building industry. This is a recognised National organization signified by the use of letters after your name. NZIOB provides you with an opportunity to widen informal business contacts with other industry professionals and to voice a range of view points.Collective Representation
All professional organisations have a vital interest in promoting their ethics and standards. That is a very difficult thing for an individual to do and members therefore rely on the Institute to speak on their behalf.
We participate in such bodies as the Construction Industry Council and have represented members interests in discussions on the licensing of building practitioners, particularly at the site 2 & 3 level.
On behalf of members, the NZIOB regularly submits to Bills before Parliament where these may affect the industry.
