Description

SITE VISIT | WELLINGTON | CPD :3

Join our Institute and NAWIC Wellington members to learn about the design and construction of the new Snow Leopard Enclosure with Naylor Love at Wellington Zoo.

Opened in April, the new Snow Leopard Habitat has been designed to ensure that Asha and Manju live their best possible lives at Wellington Zoo and that they can provide and support best practice animal care and welfare.

The habitat emulates the Snow Leopard's natural environment, encouraging the animals to display natural behaviours. The steep, rocky terrain provides physical exercise by encouraging jumping and climbing. The habitat offers plenty of space for Asha and Manju to patrol, including trees for climbing and scratching. The design of the habitat allows the Snow Leopards to feel camouflaged and rest whilst still being visible to visitors.

Naylor Love are thrilled to have been able to continue their relationship with Wellington Zoo, having been involved in the Zoo's redevelopment since 2007 with the construction of the Wild Theatre. They are grateful to play a role in building places for the community to enjoy and to assist in the amazing rehabilitation and conservation work that the Zoo do.
