NZIOB Student Members are being well catered for, with a recently completed Welcome BBQ at Massey University in Auckland, and an upcoming site visit at Concision’s off-site manufacturing facility in Christchurch.
Recently completed Massey University Welcome BBQ for School of Built Environment students
The School of Built Environment at Massey University in Albany, Auckland hosted a Welcome BBQ for its first-year students. This is traditionally held during Orientation Week but was postponed until the end of March because of COVID-19 Lockdown restrictions. NZIOB member, Greg Chawynski, was present on behalf of the NZIOB Northern Region Committee, communicating membership benefits of the NZIOB and encouraging students to join.
Quin Henderson (MNZIOB), CEO of Southbase Construction addressed the students, speaking about recent success stories for his group, as well as providing positive words of encouragement to inspire our young future building professionals. Southbase also provided guided tours of our latest building project. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Upcoming student site tour of Concision off-site manufacturing factory
The NZIOB Southern Region Committee is hosting a student-only site tour of Concision's off-site manufacturing factory. NZIOB student members can find out who Concision is, what they do, and learn about the benefits of pre-fabrication and off-site manufacturing. The Concision team has also arranged for a series of short presentations from a few of their employees, who will outline their roles within the company. Site tour numbers are limited, but there are a few places left, so register now to avoid missing out.
