This webinar will outline the work of the Construction Sector Accord and others that are driving behaviour change to improve our sector. Learn how the Construction Sector Accord’s three-year Transformation Plan is enabling behaviour and culture change by improving health and safety, strengthening procurement practices, raising standards of leadership, and growing and developing a skilled, sustainable, and diverse workforce. Listen to people share best practice as they discuss their work with government and industry to improve the construction sector. 

Speakers: 

  • Dean Kimpton – Transformation Director and Transformation Delivery Group Chair, Construction Sector Accord: Dean will discuss the Construction Sector Accord’s three-year Transformation Plan and how it is driving behaviour change to improve the sector.
  • Renee Jaine – Behavioural scientist, MartinJenkins: Renee has more than a decade of diverse experience as a behaviour-change and management specialist. As a previous independent director for New Zealand Certified Builders, with a variety of experience in the sector, she will explore the importance of culture and how to enact behaviour change in the construction industry.
  • Dr David Williams – Cultural advisor for capital projects, Fonterra: Fonterra’s Community of People programme fundamentally changed the culture of its worksites with an innovative approach to worker welfare and project efficiency. David will touch on the development of the programme and explain how it has improved the culture of Fonterra’s worksites.
  • Tuan Hawke – Solutions & Implementation Lead, Watercare Services Limited & Daniel McKessar – Project Manager, Fulton Hogan: New Zealand's largest water and wastewater company Watercare is working with its construction partners to reduce carbon emissions and construction costs, while also improving health and safety and wellbeing. Tuan from Watercare and Daniel from Fulton Hogan, one of Watercare’s partners, will discuss the impact of their new approach on Watercare’s site culture and the importance of long-term supplier partnerships.
