Back to back years of 30% growth in entries for NZ Building Industry Awards

News from the

In 2018, the NZIOB completely refreshed its annual awards programme and renamed it the New Zealand Building Industry Awards. The changes were immediately embraced by industry, with a 30% increase in entries and a 20% increase in attendees to the 2018 gala dinner. Entries for the 2019 New Zealand Building Industry Awards have now closed with numbers up 30% on 2018, providing two years in a row of growth at this level. This success reflects the full building industry supply-chain representation of those who were involved in the 2017 workshop to reimagine the Institute’s long-running glamour event; a programme that had its inaugural event in 1994.
The two categories introduced in 2018 continue to build their numbers, most notably the Interdisciplinary Collaboration category which received ten entries this year. Another category to receive record numbers was the Young Achiever (under 30s), which received eight entries.
The preliminary judging has now been completed with 51 nominees making it into the final judging round. View the full list of finalists here.
