National Construction Pipeline Report 2021

The National Construction Pipeline Report 2021 was commissioned by MBIE and jointly prepared by BRANZ and Pacifecon. The Report projects building activity for the next six years and includes national and regional breakdowns of actual and forecast residential building, nonresidential building and infrastructure activity.

Engineers to the Contract (EtCs) play a vital role in the delivery of building and civil engineering construction projects as described in the New Zealand Standard (NZS) 3910:2013 conditions of contract. Engineering NZ is establishing a Panel of recognised EtCs who meet set criteria, with applications opening in January 2022, for practicing EtCs to join the Panel.

New Code of Ethics for LBPs

The Government has announced a new Code of Ethics for Licensed Building Practitioners (LBPs) to ensure high standards are maintained in the industry. The Code of Ethics will also give the public more confidence that LBPs are reputable and operate ethically.

NZS 3910:2013 Conditions of contract for building and civil engineering construction is used as the foundation for the majority of New Zealand contracts in the building, engineering, construction and infrastructure industry sectors. Co-Commissioners, the Construction Sector Accord and the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission, have engaged Standards New Zealand to lead and manage a review of NZS 3910.

New Plymouth District Council wins Accord Beacons Award

Construction Productivity Group Report
