The Institute’s new Constitution and Bylaw set were ratified by the National Board at their inaugural meeting on the 17th of October in Wellington. An overview of the Institute’s new constitutional documents can be found in our March 2019 Dispatch. One of the practical changes implemented is that there is no longer a requirement for Seconders to support a membership application (a Proposer is still required for Full Member applications only). This will simplify our membership application process and decrease wait time for applicants.
The National Board is appointed for a two-year term, with one of their first duties being to select a Deputy Chair from within the elected Board Members. This person will perform the role of the Chair in the advent that the Chair cannot attend a Board meeting. Congratulations to Sonia Barker on being appointed into this role. You can read more about Sonia in our August 2019 Dispatch.
