2016 milestones for the NZIOB Charitable Trust included the creation of the Trust’s own website (www.nziobcharitabletrust.org.nz), and the addition of three high-profile construction industry leaders (Graham Stanage, Chris Hunter, and Phil Brosnan) as trustees.

With that preparation, the stage is now set for the gifting of two $10,000 scholarships in 2017, the purpose of which is to recognise, encourage and financially support a suitably prepared trade, technical or professional person to pursue a project linked to building through research, practice or professional development. Such a project must have the potential to contribute to the advancement of some aspect of design, construction, or management of buildings in New Zealand.

For details on the award criteria and application process, please visit
http://www.nziobcharitabletrust.org.nz/awards/. Applications close on the 30th of June 2017, and the winners will be announced at the NZIOB Awards (www.nziobawards.org.nz) at The Pullman Hotel in Auckland on Friday 25th of August.

With two 2017 scholarships totaling $20,000; the commitment from the NZIOB Charitable Trust is substantive. To enable gifting of this scale into the future, the Charitable Trust will be holding two significant fundraising events in 2017:
