NZIOB COVID-19 themed webinars

News from the

Following the government’s announcement of COVID-19 alert levels, the NZIOB saw a need for our membership, and the wider construction industry, to be provided with accurate information and guidance on critical issues that construction practitioners and companies are facing right now. To identify these issues, we surveyed our membership. The top issue our members sought information on was construction contracts, specifically, the status of a contract under COVID-19.
Our first webinar on Contracts occurred yesterday. Titled COVID-19: So much more than an EoT, the webinar was presented by MinterEllisonRuddWatts and attended by 360 people. There will be a follow-on webinar, with the same presenters, in two weeks' time. Given that this is such a fast-moving environment in which guidance can change very quickly (see previous story), the topic for the follow-on webinar will be determined as close to the event as practical.
Running concurrently with the contracts webinars will be a series on Wellbeing; another topic our members have told us they would like to see guidance on. The NZIOB is collaborating with Site Safe to produce a weekly series that will run while we are operating under COVID-19 alert levels. The first wellbeing webinar is scheduled for next Wednesday (15 April) and features Behavioural Psychologist, Dr. Kyle McWilliams. The presentation is titled: Leading and supporting teams through COVID-19. Find out more and register to attend
Those members who are unable to attend the NZIOB’s webinars can view recordings of the events by logging in to the members' portal and going to the Resource page. Access to yesterday’s COVID-19: So much more than an EoT webinar is available now.
