NZIOB’s event programme for 2020 is looking full and exciting.
The year kicked off with the NZIOB Northern Region’s ‘Celebrating Auckland’ networking event. Providing a valuable opportunity for members to connect with each other, and others involved in the building industry, the event was well attended and, by all accounts, a very enjoyable evening.
The NZIOB PlaceMakers Northern Region Golf Day was held on Tuesday, 18 March at the Pakuranga Golf Club in Auckland. Despite very hot weather and very hot golfers, the event was a huge success. Congratulations to this year's winners: 1st Place – Livefirm Construction (Team 2); 2nd Place – RCP (Team 1); 3rd place – Hawkins. And, thank you to our generous sponsors who help make this event so successful: PlaceMakers Cook Street; PlaceMakers Mt Wellington; James Hardie; Sopersmac; Resene Construction Systems (Rockcote); Nauhria; Design Windows; Hirepool; and Winstone Wallboards.
Next month, the annual NZIOB Central Region Golf Day in Wellington and NZIOB Kalmar Fishing Competition in Auckland are being held on the same day, Friday the 6th of March. Both events are very popular (the Fishing Day is sold out and there is only one team spot remaining at the Golf Day), proving their value as opportunities for consultants, contractors, specialist trades, suppliers, and sponsors to come together and enjoy a fun day out. We will feature both events, including photos and results, in an upcoming issue of NZIOB Dispatch.
Mid-winter will be cheerfully broken up with the annual NZIOB Central Region Quiz Night. Historically well-attended, with some 250+ attendees, this event is a good team-building opportunity and a welcome chance for some friendly competition between industry peers. More information on the Quiz Night will be made available soon. Follow us on Facebook and LinkedIn to receive notifications and updates.
The annual NZIOB Charitable Trust Rugby Lunch has been locked in for Friday, the 10th of July in Wellington. Our guest speaker this year is former All Black, Andrew Mehrtens. Regarded by some in the game as the finest to wear the number 10 jersey, Andrew will share stories from his days on and off the rugby field. Tickets will be available to purchase in the near future. Read more about the Trust and this event further down the page.
