The NZIOB Charitable Trust is an active and effective arm of the NZIOB, enabling the Institute to promote higher performance and increase productivity across the building industry. The primary purpose of the Trust is to provide funding to research projects, innovations, or inventions, that if realised, will lead to the betterment of the building industry. The NZIOB Charitable Trust Awards were created in 2017, with the aim of giving out up to two $10,000 ($20,000 in total) scholarships per year.
To fund the scholarships, the Trust hosts fundraising events each year, one of which is the Trust's annual Rugby Lunch, which occurs the day prior to the year’s Wellington Test Match.
