See Who's Coming to 'Constructing our World': Kristin Brookfield, Australia

News from the

SOURCE

Kristin Brookfield is the Chief Executive Industry Policy at the Housing Industry Association (HIA) in Australia. Kristin has over 20 years’ experience in planning, building and environmental regulation, and has worked in local and state government in NSW, specialising in development control and building regulations before joining HIA in 2003.

The use of non-conforming building products, and the sourcing of alternate product from the global supply chain has presented challenges to the construction industries on both sides of the Tasman. A key focus of Kristin’s role with HIA in the last 6 years, along with other industry bodies she is involved with (including BPIC, ACIF and the APCC) has been to gain an understanding of the impacts of non-conforming building products on construction projects, and the trickle down effects this can have on builders and building owners.

“The quality of building products being used on all types of projects has been a concern for many years. The industry has been working collaboratively to raise attention to these concerns and to gain government support for real solutions. The key is making the most appropriate person in the supply chain responsible for ensuring a product is fit for purpose.”

Kristin’s experience in this field is extensive, and with a topic titled ‘A global supply chain for products: risky or manageable?’, her presentation at ‘Constructing our World’ will be insightful.

Seminar dates are Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of March register at www.constructingourworld.com
