Diversity Works survey for senior leaders in the construction sector

Diversity Works and the Construction Sector Accord have created an industry-wide survey with the intention of understanding the current state of play and crafting a roadmap leading to a stronger, higher-performing construction sector. This is important research, and your voice is crucial to shaping the future of the industry.

Southern Region site visit to Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre

On 10 August, NZIOB members from the Southern Region attended a site visit to Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre in Christchurch, hosted by Ōtākaro and CPB. Members got to see inside this exciting key anchor project, and some of the spaces that will be available when it’s all complete – this included the 50-metre competition pool, diving pool, aquatic leisure area, and multi-purpose indoor courts.

New Zealand 'dropped off global supply chain' by many construction material suppliers

New Zealand has been dropped off the global supply chain by many construction material suppliers in the wake of COVID-19, threatening to stall the building sector here, a report has warned. Rider Levett Bucknall’s (RLB) 2nd Quarter 2021 International Report says that labour shortages coupled with global supply chain disruptions continue to put pressure on construction costs.

Following the NZIOB’s recent election, the NZIOB is delighted to formally introduce John Hemi, the new Chair of the NZIOB National Board. Starting as a Graduate Engineer, John has held Regional and General Management roles in the industry and is currently employed at Te Waihanga (Infracom) as an Advisor on Major Projects and the Construction Sector Accord.

Financial Management Workshop in Wellington
