Southern Region Legal Breakfast

NZCIC 2020 Election Platform videos

For the 2020 election, the NZCIC developed a list of six election platforms representing key opportunities and threats facing the New Zealand construction industry. The NZCIC 2020 Election Platforms were sent to the Building & Construction spokesperson of each of the five main political parties, who were invited to participate in a recorded interview with Radio New Zealand journalist, Phil Pennington.

The information gathered through this survey will help Infracom to identify and define suitable policy responses that will have a real impact on the Infrastructure-related construction sector and the wider New Zealand economy. 

Northland Branch site visit to Ngunguru rammed earth house

Last week our Northland Branch hosted a site visit to a rammed earth waterside dwelling in Ngunguru. This beautiful home was designed by Bronwyn McLean from NZ Architectural Design Studio and constructed by Clint Goldie and his team from Whangarei Construction. The site visit attendees were impressed with the project and had many questions for the builder and designer, both present on-site during the visit.

Wairarapa Youth Education Training and Employment Partnership Big Day Out

There are already a few female students more interested in the construction and trades industries after the Wairarapa Youth Education Training and Employment Partnership [YETE] big day out on Tuesday. More than 100 secondary school students and young people from around the region visited various businesses to learn more about career opportunities in the primary, construction and infrastructure sectors.
