Description

WEBINAR+

BIM is increasingly a part of our projects for design and delivery, but is not often thought of as a tool for H&S. The BIMSafe web portal is a new resource for the industry that seeks to share experience and expertise in using Building Information Modelling (BIM) applications to improve health and safety practices. This presentation will demonstrate BIM’s value in supporting H&S and provide examples of its use on projects around New Zealand.

In this Industry Insights webinar Kathryn Davies – Research Fellow, University of Canterbury, Building Innovation Partnership and Blair Collie – Senior Project Manager at RCP will cover:

  • Introduction to the BIMSafe project and the web portal that it has produced
  • BIM applications for H&S for everyone involved, across the full building lifecycle
  • Areas where projects can expand their existing BIM practices to provide H&S support
  • Key challenges, requirements and recommendations for implementing BIM for H&S

This webinar will be a useful webinar for anyone with health and safety responsibilities in their role. The presentation will provide a high-level overview suitable for those new to BIM or H&S integration, while also offering more detailed insights and examples that will be valuable even to experienced practitioners. The focus is not on technical aspects of BIM implementation, and any technical details will be explained in an accessible way.

What will you come away with?

  • Understanding of how BIM can support H&S
  • Throughout the project lifecycle
  • Practical examples of BIM tools and approaches for improving H&S outcomes, based on specific examples from case study projects in New Zealand
  • Awareness of key challenges and requirements for effective use of BIM for H&S with recommendations for implementing BIM-enabled H&S practices.

As always there will be plenty of opportunities for your questions through Slido.
