FRIDAY 18TH AUGUST

3.00pm-4.00pm SITE VISIT: Christchurch Stadium 

4.00pm-5.00pm SITE VISIT: Christchurch Stadium - SOLD OUT

 

Join the institute for this perimeter site visit of this iconic new landmark in Ōtautahi - Christchurch Stadium state-of-the-art multi-use arena. The $683-million project will have a seating capacity of 30,000 for sports events and will hold a minimum 36,000 spectators for large music events. This exciting new fully enclosed arena is being delivered for the Christchurch City Council by the Kōtui team, led by BESIX Watpac.  The Kōtui team includes New Zealand companies Southbase Construction, Fulton Hogan, engineers Lewis Bradford, architects Warren and Mahoney, and global stadium design experts Populous and Mott MacDonald.

Cost:     Free for NZ Institute of Building members; $50 + GST for Non-members

PPE:      Hi Viz, enclosed shoes, safety glasses – hard hat will be provided for guests from outside of Christchurch

 

 

SATURDAY 19 AUGUST 

9.30am-10.30am SITE VISIT: ChristChurch Cathedral - SOLD OUT 

10.15am-11.15am SITE VISIT: ChristChurch Cathedral 

 

Join Naylor love for a look inside the ChristChurch Cathedral, 3 years into a 10 year project to restore this historic landmark. The Cathedral may look similar however it will be safer, more functional, more flexible and more comfortable, achieved through a mix of traditional and modern materials and techniques. This site visit is proudly supported by Naylor Love, however there will be an opportunity to donate directly to the Cathedral.

Time:     9.30am- 10.30am

Venue:    ChristChurch Cathedral - Meet at the Pedestrian Gate at south end of site

Cost:     Free for NZ Institute of Building members; $50 + GST for Non-members

PPE:      Naylor Love will provide PPE (Hat, Glasses and Vest), however closed toe footwear will be required.

 

10.30am - 3.00pm Selwyn Wine Tour - Registration of interest

 

Leaving the Crown plaza at 10.30am you will be transported to Selwyn to experience 2 world class wineries with tastings at each, Enjoying a delicious lunch and the beautiful scenery, the bus will then make a stop around 3pm at Christchurch airport for those with afternoon flights before heading back to the Crown Plaza.
