Winning work and weathering the storm

It’s a buyers’ market in the Construction Industry right now, multiple (and wildly different) tenders are coming in for jobs. If you’re trying to win those jobs how can you make sure your tender makes it to the top of the pile while also setting yourself up for success and not taking on too much risk? If you’re on the other side, wading through those tenders how do you see though the ‘good deals’ to know which contractors are viable.

This workshop will bring together real perspectives of consultants, contractors and subcontractors to help you set up your project and business for success. They will look directly at issues many are facing right now in the industry – how can you be across the key risks – how to price them, how to best capture them, what to look for, and what is a reasonable level of risk to take on.

They will address how to:

  • Win jobs without taking on too much risk
  • Wade through tenders looking at the bigger picture
  • Make sure your contractor is viable
  • Weather the storm and manage your cashflow effectively
  • Deal with fixed costs, like guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and different forms of contracts
  • Negotiate the changing client appetite for fluctuations (wanting fixed price quotations valid for longer periods)
  • Manage contingencies and risk
  • Engage collaboratively

Who is this for?

Anyone pricing or receiving pricing on a construction contract ie Project managers, Construction managers, Owner operators, Subcontractors.
