Road trip!

 

There is a whole lot of interesting stuff going on in Tauranga and we are taking a road trip from Auckland to see it.

To make the most of the trip we’ll be visiting three exciting Tauranga sites including getting an exclusive first look at Winstone Wallboard’s (GIB) new cutting-edge Tauranga Facility. We are the first external group getting to see this new facility - we’re excited to take a look at where the magic happens. Take a sneak peek at the facility in this video. 

 

The second Site Visit will be to Arvida’s Care and Apartment building at Arvida Bethlehem Shores lifestyle village, the new 14,000m² facility will provide 53 apartments, together with a 55-suite care and specialist dementia care unit grouped into six households. The building’s primary structure is constructed with Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). Sustainable design principles have been carried throughout the project, with all apartments and care units designed to meet Homestar Level 7 under the enhanced Homestar standards. 

 

For the final Site Visit we will be visiting the Tauranga Council’s future leased office block at 90 Devonport Road – this is being delivered by LT McGuinness and is set to be the largest mass timber office building in New Zealand. The eight-storey high building will use a number of different kinds of engineered timber, through a number of initiatives the building will set new standards for sustainability in development and construction in New Zealand.  

 

This event is now open to Members ($100+GST) and Non-Members ($150+GST).

Your registration will include: your spot on the bus, morning tea, lunch, and a refreshing drink on the way back to Auckland.

6am –  GIB- 105 Leonard Road, Mount Wellington, Auckland 

6.30am – Bus departs Auckland for Tauranga

9.45am – Arrive in Tauranga - Group splits into 2 groups of 20 – Group A to GIB Facility, Group B to Arvida Site

11.45am – Swap – Group A to Arvida Site, Group B to GIB Facility

1.45pm – Bus to Wharemahi Kaunihera ki | Council’s future office block at 90 Devonport Road-an LT McGuinness Site

2pm – Lunch followed by a site tour 

3.30pm – Bus to depart for Auckland – with a pub pitstop along the way

6pm – Arrive back in Auckland
