Our Young Professional Advisor (YPA) Committee meets regularly to discuss ways to improve the NZIOB’s offering to the younger generation and how best to attract new members. The YPA team are engaged with the NZIOB’s direction and provide meaningful advice to the Board.

CHASNZ and Site Safe developed a guide earlier this year, an important step in standardising what's expected of the construction sector and what the minimum requirements are for training, competency assessment, site induction, and supervision.

Following a successful Expression of Interest process, a strong group of interim Establishment Board (iEB) members has been selected and will start work on the formation of all six Workforce Development Councils (WDCs). The establishment of the WDCs was originally targeted for mid-2021 but has been fast-tracked to help support New Zealand’s COVID-19 response and recovery.
