Construction marketer Kirsten Magnusson has been co-opted to the NZIOB National Board. Kirsten brings a wealth of marketing and communications experience and will also help to balance the diversity of our governance.
With 40,000 women employed in New Zealand’s construction sector, the NZIOB is focused on building and supporting diverse, equitable and inclusive working environments.
“Diversity and inclusion is a hot topic in the New Zealand construction industry and for good reason,” says Kirsten. “Women make up less than 20% of the workforce. In a booming market, this pool of talent provides a huge opportunity for the sector to tap into.”
“As the number of women in the industry continues to increase, I’m looking forward to supporting our members and welcoming more women to the NZIOB.”
Kirsten has worked in the building and construction industry for 20 years and held senior marketing positions at Fletcher Building and New Zealand Steel prior to establishing construction marketing company, Magnusson & Co.
NZIOB National Board Chair, John Hemi says, “we are thrilled to have Kirsten join the NZIOB Board. Kirsten has a marketing and culture focus, has judged NZIOB awards in the past, and works in our sector’s supply chain. She is a member of the Institute of Directors, serves on other Boards, and will help us develop and communicate our strategic goals and membership value proposition.”
