New Zealand’s building regulatory system is built on the Building Act 2004 and anchored by the performance-based Building Code. It provides for the regulation of buildings, building work and various occupational groups in the building industry, and the setting of building performance standards. MBIE’s Building Performance Team has made online learning modules available, which provide a great introductory overview of New Zealand’s building regulatory system. The modules are suitable for both people who are new to the building industry, and those who just need a refresher.
