The 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the NZIOB was held in Christchurch on Tuesday the 28th of July. The AGM was bookended by a tour to the Christ Church Cathedral site and a presentation on that project. For the pre-AGM component, a good-sized group was taken through the Cathedral site to view progress on the first phase of physical works including substantial enabling and temporary protection works, clearing out of contamination and livestock, and providing long term shoring of the existing building. For the post-AGM presentation, Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Project Director, Keith Paterson, provided an overview of the project history, procurement process, and construction methodology.

BIMinNZ was a one-day conference on Building Information Modelling (BIM) representing an industry partnership between the New Zealand Institute of Building (NZIOB) and the BIM Acceleration Committee (BAC). BAC was created out of the government-sponsored Building and Construction Productivity Partnership, which viewed BIM as a leading tool to enhance productivity levels in the sector.
The inaugural BIMinNZ Conference was envisaged and delivered by industry, for industry, with funding support from the Building Research Levy.
