New York Times bestselling author Shawn Achor has been confirmed as opening speaker at the BIMinNZ Conference in Wellington on 10 March 2022. Shawn’s interest in how collective performance gains of individuals contribute to an elevated eco-system performance, fits in well with the BIMinNZ Conference theme, Building our Digital Community.
Throughout his career, Shawn has used research and case studies to show practical ways in which individuals and teams can enhance the ecosystem of potential via the maxim: expand power out, defend the system against the negative, and sustain the gains. Drawing from his latest book Big Potential, and his recent consultancy work with clients such as NASA and the US Marines (Camp Pendleton), Shawn‘s BIMinNZ presentation will provide strategies and tools for us to develop resilience for both ourselves (the individual), while collectively growing the resilience of the companies and industry in which we work (the ecosystem).
Shawn graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and earned a Masters from Harvard Divinity School in Christian and Buddhist ethics. After spending 12 years at Harvard, Shawn traveled to 50 countries studying how to create an interconnected approach to potential and happiness. In every place Shawn has found the optimism can be increased through mindset and behavioural change, and that by creating an interconnected approach to happiness and success, we shine brighter together. Shawn’s research made the cover of Harvard Business Review, his TED talk is one of the most popular of all time with over 22 million views, and his lecture airing on PBS has been seen by millions.
The full BIMinNZ Conference programme is due to be released in July.
