NZIOB has become an Industry Friend of NAWIC

LATEST NEWS

The NZIOB has recently become a Construction Industry Friend of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NAWIC is a not-for-profit organisation that champions and empowers women in construction and related industries, supporting them to reach their full potential. Joining the select group of Industry Friends of NAWIC is an acknowledgment of the NZIOB’s understanding of and commitment to the importance of gender equity in the construction industry. The NZIOB looks forward to partnering with NAWIC in encouraging women to pursue, establish and sustain successful careers in the construction industry.

NAWIC President, Stacey Mendonca commented:

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is thrilled to welcome NZIOB as a Construction Industry Friend sponsor. NAWIC reserves this sponsorship category for a very small number of collaborative sponsors whose goals, aspirations and values align closely with NAWIC. This new agreement builds on a long and successful association, which dates back to 1997. NAWIC has been grateful for the previous support of NZIOB leaders that includes: NZIOB Foundation Council member, the late Professor Helen Tippett, who encouraged the establishment of NAWIC in New Zealand; Past NZIOB Presidents Gina Jones and Bob Hall; and more recently, NZIOB CEO Malcolm Fleming. They and other NZIOB members across the years, have encouraged and supported NAWIC's aim to raise the profile of women in the construction industry.
