Entries for the 2020 New Zealand Building Industry Awards have now closed, with an impressive number of entries in each category, and a record number of entries received overall. This success feels even sweeter considering the unusually challenging year 2020 has turned out to be.
The preliminary judging round will begin shortly to determine our list of finalists, an announcement about which will be made in mid-August. Face-to-face (or video conference) interviews for finalists will be held in the first half of September.
And of course, all this activity will culminate in a big night of recognition and celebration – the Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner on Friday, 30 October. Finalists and their supporters, as well as sponsors and industry colleagues, will be invited to attend the Gala Dinner in one of three locations – the Cordis Hotel in Auckland, Te Papa in Wellington, and the Town Hall in Christchurch. Connected via a virtual platform, the event will be delivered in a format similar to a television network’s election night special, with finalists attending the various venues, and the MC cutting to live feeds from each venue for the presentations of the awards. The event will also be live-streamed.
You can register your interest in attending the Gala Dinner here but please note that this does not guarantee ticket purchase. General ticket sales will open in late August.
