NZIOB Kalmar Annual Fishing Competition

After being postponed in February due to weather conditions, the annual NZIOB Kalmar Fishing Competition was finally held on Friday 6 May attracting over 170 keen participants. 

Congratulations to:

• Barney Lay - John Dory, 2.531 kg

• Freek Taverne - Trevally 1.564kg

• Matt Emerson - Kahawai 2.111kg

• Angela Purcell - Women’s Category (Biggest fish caught by a female) – Snapper 2.419kg

• Dom Regan - Snapper 9.498kg 

While no Kingfish were caught this year, Dom Regan’s snapper was the biggest snapper landed in the history of the event which has been held over the past 14 years.

NZIOB Central Region Golf Day

The sold-out NZIOB Central Region Golf Day was held on Friday, 6 May. The event was another great success, with 28 teams competing to win the coveted top prizes. The top 3 teams for 2022 were: 

• 1st Resene Construction Systems/Rockcote

• 2nd NME

• 3rd NZIOB 

The People’s Choice Award for the favourite hole went to Designgroup Stapleton Elliott, the Closest to the Hole Award to Robertson Surveying, and the Longest drive to Wouter Van Hearden.
