After months of social distancing and the accompanying uncertainty about future events, the NZIOB team is excited to be back in the business of delivering in-person industry functions.

As well as the Southern Region Committee's Christ Church Cathedral project site visit and presentation next month (see details further up in the AGM article), our two other Regional Committees have upcoming site visits to announce.

The Central Region Committee is organising a site visit to the Cuba Precinct. Located in the centre of the popular Cuba Street, one of the Capital’s highest footfall zones, the Cuba Precinct is being redeveloped by Willis Bond & Co. across three iconic sites. The former Farmers building at 94-102 Cuba Street is being seismically strengthened to 100% NBS and tied into the well-known former homes of Mighty Mighty and The Matterhorn. Highlights of the visit will include an insight into the retention methods of heritage features, the opportunity to view key structural elements, and a behind the scenes look into the future developments in the area. Invites for this event will be sent out next week.

The Northern Region Committee has also been busy, locking in a visit to the America’s Cup site at Wynyard Point in Auckland on Thursday 23 July. Generously sponsored by Carters, this will be one event not to miss. Registrations will open next week.
