Our Young Professional Advisor (YPA) Committee meets regularly to discuss ways to improve the NZIOB’s offering to the younger generation and how best to attract new members. The YPA team are engaged with the NZIOB’s direction and provide meaningful advice to the Board.
Current projects the Committee are working on include:
- Social media: Creating engaging content for NZIOB’s Instagram account to assist in connecting with a wider group of potential members as well as to increase brand awareness.
- Construction podcast: Developing a construction-related podcast covering topical discussions within the construction industry.
- Wellbeing event (workshop): Developing a workshop-style event, aimed at supporting the mental health of New Zealand’s construction professionals. The workshop is proposed to be tested in the Christchurch Region, and then rolled out nationally.
- Resume and Job Market Preparation (webinar): Developing a webinar for NZIOB Student members that will include two presenters, a recruiter, and a resume writer. The event will provide attendees with guidance on how to increase their prospects of gaining employment in the industry post-graduation.
