This year's NZIOB Southern Region Legal Breakfast will discuss and break down a smorgasbord of topics such as build-ability, payment claims, retentions and awarding damages, with an update on COVID-19 requirements for the construction sector. Our speakers, Jonathan Pow and Richard Johnstone, have been presenting the annual NZIOB Legal Breakfast since 2016.

Northland Branch site visit to Ngunguru rammed earth house

Last week our Northland Branch hosted a site visit to a rammed earth waterside dwelling in Ngunguru. This beautiful home was designed by Bronwyn McLean from NZ Architectural Design Studio and constructed by Clint Goldie and his team from Whangarei Construction. The site visit attendees were impressed with the project and had many questions for the builder and designer, both present on-site during the visit.

Video showcases quality NZIOB events

As covered in our 31 July issue of News from the Source, this year’s NZIOB AGM and accompanying site visit to Christ Church Cathedral were filmed, with the aim of creating a short highlights reel that the Institute can use to showcase what a regional NZIOB event looks like. This video is now ready, and we are delighted with how it turned out – a snapshot of the quality of events that NZIOB members have the opportunity to attend. Check out the video here.
